These are a series of stepped 96khz 24 bit impulses made from stuff around my studio. I made impulses from -18dB to +9dB in 1 dB steps at various settings. This is my first time using Voxengo's Deconvolver, and worse it was in demo mode so this took forever and a half! Renaming and splitting up all the impulses was a chore in itself, but hopefully it will be worth it. I am hoping that creating stepped impulses in this way will nudge a plugin developer to make a "threshold stepper convolution app". I can explain my reasoning if anyone bites.

The Channel Emulator Series Volume 01 Version 1.0

These impulses where developed for those wishing to MIB (Mix In The Box).
Large format mixing consoles have proven to be an essential ingredient in the mixing process. The Channel Emulator Series gives in the box mixers the chance to have that ingredient.
Don't expect the results to jump out and bite you.
In fact the results may even seem very subtle in some cases. When applied correctly across all or most channels in a mix the results can be rather pleasing.
No descriptions of how these impulses are created. This is not a set of impulse promoting a single great and classic piece of gear. The idea is that the user should use their trust in what they hear and not what they hope to hear.
The only descriptions are to be found in the names of the impulses but these are only guides, feel free to experiment.
The level will drop by up to -4.4dB depending on the impulse used this is to compensate for the varying dynamics of source material passed through the impulse. The old normalise before impulsing method may be used but once again trust your ears.
NO ALGORITHMS OR GEAR WHERE INJURED, MISTREATED OR KILLED DURING DEVELOPMENT. Well ok maybe some ears did take a bit of BEATING!

Short Description:

These were created from a POD XT running firmware
version v1.05.
All effects were turned off and all EQ was flat (except Fender which has
bass + mid boosted, highs turned down) and
Drive was turned off to capture the AMP+CAB only. Everything was captured
using Sonar 3.11. I fed dirac24_96_mono.wav into POD XT
mono input and captured at 44.1 & 24 bit using Echo Mia's. I normalized
and exported from Sonar 3.11. Final editing was done by Tolga
who's help in this process was greatly appreciated. Thanks man!
